KarooBraai™ Parilla Spit:
Maximum height adjustment is possible with the extra high gantry of the Santa Maria V4 Supremo!
Up high ensures even roasting, and lower for the perfect crispy crackling.
Usable spit shaft length is a whopping 1100mm happy to handle weight.
Attache the AC spit motor with 4 bolts and wingnuts and position the shaft in its designated position.
Cross Arms for full carcass spit, double and single prongs and an extra large size flat basket ensures all options for the traditional spit are accommodated.
Keep your carved meat warm and let guests self-serve from the spit.
The large tray and meat dome lid can easily be accessed from the front of the hanger, or be removed and taken to the table.
Spits are wood fired cooking experiences and these are premium accessories to have on an Argentinian Santa Maria!

Parilla Meat Hooks:
Try your tomahawk or any other meat on the bone over live fire.  Add a pineapple and you will quickly come to love the idea!

Parilla Fire Bricks:
Designed in true Argentinian braai fashion to minimize heat distribution to outer panels, fire brick also ensures even heat distribution throughout the braai.
It furthermore is considered essential for its ability to extend the lifespan of your braai setup!
Should your Parilla or Santa Maria be fitted directly next to cabinetry, we strongly suggest adding insulation board together with the fire brick.

Parilla Fire Brick Housing /Surround for Fire Pit:
As explained above, this forms part of the total setup – not only for function – also for spectator rights.
Argentinian Santa Marias brag the fire pit idea and this is it!
But, while the front access door is very useful to even hide the used braai area afterwards, the door should normally be open during times of excessive fire.

The Brasero (fire starter or Ember Maker):
While streamlining the process of lighting wood, it also does it faster and requires less effort.
This is a straight-forward way to ignite the fire and have enough embers for your spit-braai.
The fire stays lit and is not directly under the braai – easy to use both with wood or large charcoals.

Argentinian V-grid tipped slightly forward, channeling excess fat to a drip tray.
Braai possibilities are increased when using a height-adjustable braai grid, and the easy touch wheel
made from marine grade stainless steel controls and allows for perfect heating control.

Just as V-Grids have been designed and tested over centuries for a specific purpose,
our grade 304 stainless steel Argentine V-Grids have sloped V-Grid segments with a front drip pan.
The V-grooves channel drippings to a catch pan to avoid flare ups.
Ideal for fatty cuts of meat and skin on chicken – ensuring impeccable searing capabilities.
Fat drippings away from the fire prevents flare-ups in non-height adjustable grills without drip trays,
whilst these very same drippings can be repurposed and used for re-basting the meat in its own juices – or discarded.

DID YOU KNOW:
Normal fire grates eventually disintegrate resulting from high temperature reached in open fires!
Strength loss (loss of temper) for steel is generally accepted to begin at about 300°C and increases rapidly after 400°C.
At 427°C, steel retains approximately 60 percent of its yield strength!
At 566°C, carbon steel only retains approximately 50 percent of its yield strength and 45% of its stiffness!

FACTS:
1.
The maximum temperature that a wood-burning fire can reach depends on
several factors, including the type of wood, airflow, and combustion conditions.
Under optimal conditions, such as sufficient airflow and dry wood,
temperatures in a wood-burning fire can typically range from 1100°C to 1200°C!
2.
* * * Grade 304 stainless steel has good resistance to oxidation in:
intermittent service up to 870°C
and in continuous service to 925°C.
3.
* * * Grade 3CR12 stainless steel exhibit scaling resistance between 600 and 750°C in the presence of air,
and between 450 and 600°C under stress environments.
The material tends to become fragile upon prolonged exposure to temperatures between 450 and 550°C

Ash Pans are for embers and ash – it is not meant to build a fire in.

Should you wish to build a fire in your ash pan, add our ember grid to your order.

large aeration cutouts allow air to be drawn into the base, front and rear of the grate

Consider the Benefits:

–  These prolong the lifespan of your ash pan as air from beneath helps to push heat upward and away from the ash pan
–  Fire gets ventilated from underneath which greatly helps to get to embers stage
–  The worst contact heat from a large fire is not in contact with the ashpan for prolonged periods,
as only the embers will fall through the ember grid onto the ash pan
–  10mm round bar in grade 304 stainless steel will probably outlast the total braai
